Has 'Hawaii Five-O' booked its Danno? Could be Irishman
Book 'em Danno?
Peter O'Meara has met with the creative team for the Danny "Danno" Williams role in the planned remake, the pilot for which will shot in March.
O'Meara, an Irish actor from Tipperary, is under consideration for the role — and utterance — made famous by James MacArthur.
"This is a tremendously exciting prospect for me," said O'Meara in a press release. "I grew up in damp rainy Ireland and 'Hawaii Five-O' with its sunshine and adventure was the show that I loved most as a kid. It's had everything. It's the show that first made me want to be an actor. Of course I wanted to be Steve McGarrett. He's the James Bond of Television characters.
"But Danno would be great too. It's the fulfillment of a childhood dream just to be considered for the revival of such an iconic series."
