Ian McShane will be Blackbeard in fourth ‘Pirates’
Ian McShane, a British actor, is expected to portray the legendary villain pirate Blackbeard, in “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,” according to The Hollywood Reporter.
McShane joins Johnny Depp, continuing in his Captain Jack Sparrow role, in the fourth of the Disney series that will be filmed in Hawai’i this summer, with Rob Marshall directing.
Penelope Cruz, who starred in Marshall’s most recent project “Nine,” will also star in a tale revolving the Fountain of Youth.
McShane is best known in America for his starring role as the owner of a brothel in HBO’s “Deadwood,” but he also provided his voice in “Coraline” and “Kung Fu” panda.
