Len Wiseman, who helmed the 2007 action film “Lie Free or Die Hard,” will direct the CBS revival of “Hawaii Five-O,” slated to begin production here in March.
Movieweb.com reports that Wiseman has come aboard to direct the pilot that, to date, has three actors lined up to reboot the classic Jack Lord series which was a CBS staple from 1968 to 1980:
• Alex O’Loughlin, as Steve McGarrett.
• Daniel Dae Kim, as Chin Ho Kelly.
• Taryn Manning, as Mary Ann McGarrett, sister of the head of the state police unit.
The pilot is a project of “Fringe” creators Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, along with CSI: NY executive producer Peter Lenkov, who wrote the pilot script based on a story that Lenkov, Orci and Kurtzman collaborated on.

Thanks again for giving us the play "bug." After returning from New York, we bought season tickets to Diamond Head Theatre. And we have tickets next week for Hair.

Any buzz yet about Chorus Line?

I believe that Hawaii Fiver-O, with the excellent team of talented young actors (Alex O'Loughlin, Danial Dae Kim, Taryn Manning, Grace Park), writers, producers (Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, and Peter Lenkov), director (Len Wiseman) and cast, will do very well and become a successful new crime drama on CBS for the 2010-2011 season.
