The curtain goes down on Show and Tell blog. Mahalo, y'all...

After 860 postings, Show and Tell Hawaii bids aloha today (Oct. 7). This is the final blog. For now, anyway.

We welcomed you to Show and Tell on Jan. 14, 2009, and dedicated this space to the performing arts — music, theater, clubs, TV, films, and show biz personalities — as a companion to my Show Biz column that is published Sundays in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser's Today section.

The print column will continue, but for now, this online blog bids adieu. After today, the curtain goes down.

Over the years, we've engaged in chatter, offered tips on upcoming shows, reviewed some events that the print edition may not have covered. There were commentaries and observations, some pats on the back, some slaps on the wrist — all part of the biz called show. We've laughed together, cheered together, even cried today.

You've agreed with some postings, disagreed with others, so this was a place for you to voice your opinions, too. We always adored conversations and conflicts, along with the congrats.

After today, the Star-Advertiser will shut down all blogs.

We'll take a few weeks to enjoy the down time. And perhaps, Show and Tell Hawaii may reappear on a website a click away. If so, we'll let you know — maybe via Facebook — but for now, it's time to say mahalo for your support and aloha.

Coming Friday (Finally): A new Bruno Mars single, '24K Magic'

Mars is ready for launch.

That is, Bruno Mars — Hawaii’s favorite son — finally will release a new single this Friday. (Oct. 7).

The tune, “24 K Magic,” will be his first single since last year’s dance and video blockbuster, “Uptown Funk” (with Mark Ronson).

The single will be a prelude and preview of his widely anticipated album, release date still unknown but October had been on the radar.

The announcement was made via an Instagram posting, with a collage of nine images that ultimately revealed Mars wearing a white baseball cap displaying “XXIV k.”

A Twitter posting of the full image confirmed the single, “24 K Magic.”24imagic
